Teaching can be a wild ride, especially when it comes to dealing with parents. We asked teachers to share some of the most outrageous demands and requests they’ve received. Here are their stories:
Homework Hassles
One teacher shared that a parent demanded their child not be given any homework because they “needed time to relax after school.” The teacher had to explain that homework is part of the learning process, but the parent wasn’t having it.
Grade Gripes
Another teacher recalled a parent who insisted their child should get an A just for showing up. The teacher had to gently explain that grades are based on performance, not attendance. The parent wasn’t pleased.
