Taylor Swift Makes History at the 2024 MTV VMAs
Taylor Swift had a huge night at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. She won Video of the Year for her song Fortnight, featuring Post Malone. This is her fifth time winning the award. Now, she shares the record for most wins with Beyoncé!
Swift also made history as the artist with the most self-directed Video of the Year wins. She previously won for All Too Well: The Short Film and Anti-Hero. Fortnight makes it a lucky three!
Girl Power and Other Big Wins
Swift and Post Malone also snagged the award for Best Collaboration for Fortnight. During her acceptance speech, Swift took a moment to remember those affected by 9/11. She also thanked Post Malone for working with her. She even gave a shoutout to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. She called him her biggest supporter and thanked him for his help during the video shoot.
This year’s VMAs was a big one for women in music! Chappell Roan and Katy Perry both gave amazing performances. Plus, Katy Perry received the Video Vanguard Award. Some other big wins include Sabrina Carpenter winning Song of the Year for Espresso and Tyla taking home Best Afrobeats.
The show was full of spectacular performances. GloRilla, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, and Camila Cabello all rocked the stage. Katy Perry even treated fans to a medley of her biggest hits!
