Keanu Reeves Makes Pro Racing Debut
Actor Keanu Reeves added another skill to his resume on Saturday, October 5, 2024: professional race car driver. Reeves competed in the Toyota GR Cup at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
From Big Screen to Race Track
The Toyota GR Cup features Toyota vehicles and runs alongside the Indy 8 Hour sports car race. Reeves, driving the No. 92 BRZRKR car, qualified 31st out of 35 cars. The car features a design promoting his graphic novel, ‘The Book of Elsewhere’.
During the race, Reeves moved up the ranks, reaching as high as 21st place. Despite a spin-out near Turn 9, he avoided contact with other cars and continued racing. Reeves ultimately crossed the finish line in 25th place.
This wasn’t Reeves’ first time behind the wheel of a race car. He won the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach’s celebrity race back in 2009. Reeves’ teammate for the GR Cup is Cody Jones, a member of the group ‘Dude Perfect’. Fans can catch Reeves’ next race on Sunday, October 6, 2024, when he competes again in the Toyota GR Cup.
