7 Extremely Wild Dating Shows That Every Millennial Probably Remembers That I Don’t Think Any Gen Z’er Would Be Ready For

7 Wild Dating Shows Millennials Remember (But Gen Z Might Not Be Ready For)

1. “Next”

If you were a millennial, you probably remember “Next” on MTV. Contestants would go on a series of mini-dates, and if things went south, they could just say “Next!” and move on to the next person. Imagine speed dating but with a bus full of potential dates waiting to be called up.

2. “Room Raiders”

“Room Raiders” was another MTV gem where contestants would snoop through each other’s rooms before meeting face-to-face. The idea was to judge someone based on their living space. It was both creepy and fascinating to watch!

3. “Parental Control”

In “Parental Control,” parents who didn’t like their child’s current partner got to choose new potential dates for them. The child then went on dates with these new picks, while the current partner watched and commented. Awkward? Yes. Entertaining? Absolutely.

4. “Elimidate”

On “Elimidate,” one contestant would go on group dates with four potential suitors. After each round, they’d eliminate one person until only one remained. It was like “The Bachelor” but much more fast-paced and casual.

5. “Date My Mom”

This show took a unique twist by having contestants date the mothers of their potential partners first. The moms would then try to sell their kids as the perfect match. It was a strange but oddly heartwarming concept.

6. “Dismissed”

“Dismissed” featured two people competing for a date with one person. They’d all go on a date together, and the single person would choose who to keep and who to dismiss. The competition made it super intense.

7. “The 5th Wheel”

In “The 5th Wheel,” four people went on a double date, and midway through, a fifth person would join to shake things up. It added an extra layer of drama and surprise, making it a must-watch.

These shows had a certain charm that might be lost on Gen Z. But for millennials, they were a staple of our TV-watching days. Would you be up for watching any of these wild dating shows again?
